I always put in my mind that to see others hotel product is something a very usefully, I can use as a benchmark, comparison or even and ideas. One of them is "Guest Room" product. I've visit many hotel from 5 star hotel to 6 or 7 hotel ( some hotel claimed his hotel beyond even plus diamond ) and most of them were spectacular with very fine Italian wood furniture, the latest flat screen TV, The modern refrigerator, 100 % wool imported carpet, 100 % Egypt cotton white sheet, Sparkling bathroom marble, until the latest toilet bowl, is bloody fantastic product.
They show us one to another, all look uniform, every amenities place in order, straight and organized. The person the one who explain also very proud and very confident and I am agree that's very good product.
I try to reflect to my self, I ask my self, and I did self talking " I wish my hotel have the same product!!!, If I don't have that kind of product what should I do ? Ahhhhhhhhh if that is called excellence is not because the person the one who taking care the room but because of the hotel owner have Brillion interior designer ( ID ) and owner got a lot money? Not because of people who taking care the rooms.
This kind self talking keep remain in my mind until the following ideas applied and been proved 2 times in my work experience. Is work and successfully.
Guest Rooms Site Inspection Experience
Situation apply :
1. During a big group of Rooms Site Inspection, more than 10 people, less people will be less impact for any fuction, e.g launching of your hotel or just to invite them purposely.
2. When require to show a differently type of guest rooms in your hotel, say a 3 minimum type of rooms.
3. During the day is perfect
Standard : An experience the guest rooms in any occasion.
impressed your customer or even your co-worker. Giving an experience to your customer when they inspected the guest rooms they will connected to the occasion and able to illustrate by them self the feeling of staying in your hotel.
Procedures :
Connect to the all occasion and illustrate the customers feeling tools
1. The first guest rooms show according to the set up. Note : everything in order, all room and bathroom amenities is straight and tidy. Spray the room as per standard smell you use.
Expectation : No feeling will connect on this situation, the set up as per every body expectation.
2. The second room : start to use you creativity, set up the room as per arrival, think what normally given or set up during arrival. Some hotel will provide fruit basket, cake, juice, or even chocolate plus welcome letter or welcome card. Do the similar think and adjust a litte bit on the welcome letter, since you expecting a big number of customer use the card to welcome the, say " WELCOME TO SUMAN HOTEL " make sure the location of the card and the room amenities visible. Other room set up the same like NO 1, in order and straight. In this second room set defenelty will have a good comment.
communication :
Card is already communicate with customer by saying welcome but will be really perfect that who ever lead the tour also will talk and explain to them all.
Coversation guideline :
The set up of this room is an illutration of guest arrival, each of guest will have welcome amenities its can be fruits, cake, chocolate or else, plus we will also provide a welcome letter, the content of the letter not only to welcome but also to brief what we have in term of hotel facilities
Hotel Expectation :
Don't be suprrise if you got the good comment on this, some may say very nice, Wow or or quite ( in Asia quite or no comment can be good, a lots people don't say anything if they feel good, but the will talk lound when they are not happy )
3. The third room, show to your customer the working environment in the room, set up working environment at a writing desk completed with computer ( with screen on either with hotel logo or financial report appear ), spectacle, news paper, few file, books, news paper include hot coffee, you may write also a small note saying, to day agenda meeting at 10 am, lunch at 12.30 pm at Suman hotel. No dead air in the room create a soft music it can be from the computer it self or you on the hi fi, intrumnetal music will better impact. Do not spay the room since the coffee smell is there.
communications :
Computer, coffee latte, paper, book and file will trasform your feeling into working environment but again who ever lead the tour will adding more to bring the cutomer into this working einvorment.
Conversation guideline :
This room show the situation if you stay with our hotel and use the room as your office, we have a convenience desk, broadband connection, fax machine etc to support you office work not to forget room service open 24 hours in case you need more coffee.
Hotel Expectation :
I believe you already bring your customer mind set to the real situation, they may start to imagine if they will use his/her room as working room.
4. The forth Room. Bring your customer to beyond of their expectation, created the turn down set up at one of room, calm, romantic, relaxing mood should be dominan on this set up, add some turn down amnities as part of sleeping aid will be perfect.
communications :
candle, burning aromatic, turnd down card, the bed set up, lighting, music are part of the massage again who ever lead the tour should be given an explanation of this set up.
Coversation guideline :
This room is set up as a turn down service, if you are requested you will experience this setting, relaxing, calm, romantic and the most impotant is the sleeping aids where you sleep deep well, always on the alrm or get assitant from our friendly front desk we will happy to wake you up.

4. The fourth one is if require you need to show the big size room such as Executive suite, Ambassador suite, president suite show them the best, at the large space you can be more creative, flowers, large fruite arrangement, ethnic decoration maybe will add the teste not to forget light up the candle and if necessary fill your jaccuzy with bubling water and petal flowers.
