Kerabat Nusantara Announces Charity Activities For Aceh By Rosli Abidin Yahya

Bandar Seri Begawan, 9 February 2005. KERABAT Nusantara, the Association of Indonesian Community in Brunei Darussalam announced several fund raising activities yesterday to collect funds for the tsunami victims of Aceh.
Sumantri Endang, an executive committee member said a painting exhibition entitled "Pesona Indonesia" is currently taking place at the Lobby level at Sheraton Utama Hotel, Jalan Tasek.
He said the exhibition features painting of six Indonesians and three Bruneians, which are on sale to the public until Feb 10.
It is organised by Sheraton Utama Hotel with support from Kerabat Nusantara.
The exhibition is open to the public and proceeds from the sale of the paintings will go to the Tsunami Disaster Humanitarian Fund.
Moreover, adding to the fund raising activities, he also stated that a cooking class on authentic Aceh cuisine will be held on Feb 13. The location will be announced later.
In addition, he also said that an Indonesian food festival entitled "Warung Kerabat Nusantara - Big Makan Festival" is to take place at the Royal Regalia in the capital from Feb 25 to 27.
The event will be organised by Brunei Association of Hotels (BAH) with support from the Brunei Tourism Office.
The festival will feature authentic and sumptuous cuisines from many parts of Indonesia and will be open from loam to 10pm on the said dates.
Kerabat Nusantara also announced a badminton tournament on Feb 27 commencing 7.30am and will take place at the Multi-Purpose Hall, 5'h Floor of the Scouts Building in Beribi.
