Sheraton Lauds Housekeeping & Laundry, Associates By Huraizah Ahmad.
Bandar Seri Begawan - Sheraton Utama Hotel recently honoured its housekeeping and laundry associates during the Rooms' Division - Housekeeping and Laundry Awards held at the Mutiara Ballroom.
The event was held to show recognition and appreciation to all the housekeeping and laundry associates who have contributed towards achieving high points on the Guest Satisfaction Index (GSI) and Starwood Cares Programme.
Helen Butui @ Hellen, a room attendant, was voted as `Miss Clean 2005', which was based on the highest score attained from guestroom's Quality Assurance (QA) inspection achieving a score of 94.73 per cent. Hajah Nadhirah Ahmad, Housekeeping Supervisor, received the `Most Productive Trainer 2005' in recognition for achieving the highest hours in conducting training last year with 186 hours and 15 minutes. -
The hotel's Public Area Attendant, Asep Matsum Mustafa, won two awards namely the `Most Active Trainee 2005' for producing the highest hours in training attendance clocking 231 hours and 25 minutes and the `Best Attendance 2005' with no absence or sick leave for the whole year last year.
`Miss Starwood 2005' was bagged by Norzainun Abdullah, a room attendant, who received the highest achievement of Starwood Care recognition with four nominations in 2005.
Each winner received an award certificate for their recognition, a flower bouquet and a dining voucher for complimentary lunch buffet at the hotel's Tasek Brasserie. The awards were presented by Datin Haj ah Zainah Bujang, General- Manager and Mr Sumantri Endang, Executive Housekeeper.
In her speech, Datin Hajah Zainah congratulated the winners and she was proud that the Housekeeping team has achieved the highest score of 98.98 per cent of cleanliness according to Starwood's LRA, the standard compliance inspection with the highest score in the Southeast Asia property.
The Rooms' Division - Housekeeping and Laundry Award was initiated by Mr Sumantri Endang. Also present at the reception were members of the executive committee, department heads and the housekeeping and laundry associates who also received Starwood Cares recognition for `Outstanding Care for Guest and Business' during the function. -- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
