Brunei Food Festival Opens Feb 25Bandar Seri Begawan - Locals renowned for their huge appetite for sumptuous and delicious food can attend the Brunei Food Festival at the open area opposite the Royal Regalia in the capital from 10 am to 10 pm on Feb. 25-27.Endang Sumantri of the Kerabat Nusantara, an association of the Indonesian community in Brunei, said his organisation would participate and offer mouth-watering cuisine from many parts of Indonesia.Organised by the Brunei Association of Hotels and supported by Tourism Brunei, sponsors for the Brunei Food Festival include Borneo Bulletin, Media Permata, T.C.Y Motors Sdn Bhd, Aliaa, Kingston, Delcol and GTE.He called upon food lovers to look for Warring Kerabat Nusantara - Big Makan Festival, at the venue."Proceeds from the festival will be donated to the tsunami victims in Aceh to help the reconstruction of the devastated Indonesian province," he said.The festival is also offering authentic and sumptuous cuisine from Brunei. Other Asian delicacies are prepared based on recipes adjusted to suit Bruneian preferences.'Booths for the Big Makan Brunei Food Festival are available at $50 each for the 3-day event.
