Art Exhibition For Tsunami Relief Fund At Sheraton By Huraizah Ahmad
Bandar Seri Baegawan 2 February 2005 - Sheraton Utama Hotel in the capital held an art exhibition entitled 'Pesona-Indonesia' at the hotel lobby yesterday as part of the hotel's initiative to collect funds for the tsunami victims.
The exhibition which will last until February 10 features art works by Indonesian artists such as Aelina, Abay D Subarna, Arfial Arsati Hakim, Soegng Toekio M, Sri Sumarsih and Samsunuwiyati Marat.
Paintings by local artists are also displayed at the event, including the works of water colour painter, Hj Jamil H Gadung, and batik painter, Zainal Abidin.
The artists featured have taken part in art shows held in Indonesia, Paris, Bonn, Holland and Kuala Lumpur.
All proceeds collected from the art exhibition at the hotel will be channeled to the Tsunami Disaster Relief Fund to help the survivors, of the deadly tidal waves. -- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
