Ideation Article -Sheraton Anthem Song

Inspired by own experience that within 10 second I can sing a simple Chinese song. This is not because of miracle! It is because I recognize the rhythms of the song and its remains me my childhood song in English language, so there I go within 10 second I can sing.

When my Chinese teacher start to write Chinese word on the white board with hangi ping ying, I have no clue what is that.
This is what she wrote :

Liang zhi lao hu Liang zhi lao hu Pao de kuai Pao de kuai
Yi zhi mei you yan jing Yi zhi mei you er dua
Zhen qi quai Zhen gi guai

When my teacher said “ if you remember this famous children song “Brother John” is easy for you to learn this song it is the same, than my teacher started to sing the song with the rhythms.

27 years ago I still remember how my English teacher taught us this song and 27 years ago I remember the atmosphere of the English class. And not a magic within less than 10 second I can sing that Chinese song.

What I have learned from this past experience is that actually a song can make people remember the past moment and experienced. How powerful our brain can be to remember and this can use as a strong method or tools for human to create a strong memory at early age so as it will remain forever.

Brief on idea:
Sheraton should play essential role in this part by creating the Sheraton / Starwood anthem song for children. Song should have contemporary tone or melody for all nationals around the world.
Create the Sheraton song to create a Sheraton/Starwood memory

Tone or melody should not be complicated or too much high tone or tempo. Melody & lyric should be simple but nice and short. Original lyric recommended in English language but each respective hotel can convert to their local language except rhythm or melody has to remain the same.

Song can create fundamental memory at early age use Sheraton song as;
1. As compulsory song for worldwide Sheraton hotels.
2. Sheraton anthem song may use as welcome song standard for children function
3. May use for telephone hold the line music.
4. Sheraton may use as singing competition in each respective property.
5. Language may change to local language but still remain in the same melody means still in the same sense of belong and feeling.

Who to create & Involve
Open to all Sheraton associate for competitions; alternatively get from professional to create the lyric. Should be original and lyric specially composed for Sheraton not convert or took from some other singers music in the market.

If open as competition
• Create the procedure
• Select the judges (not all Sheraton management, to include a professional musician it will be great. Get free professional judges from hotel musician that hotel hire. Make sure mentioned in the contract will be possible to ask an opinion to be judges.
• Prizes is not difficult to decide but please to include the name of the composer to the song which been selected from all Sheraton property as part of this Prize
• Lunching the Sheraton anthem song
• May produce Sheraton Song collection with CD or DVD which can be sole at Sheraton / Starwood gift shop
