Bandar Seri Begawan 27 June 2007.The Board of Directors of Hotel Associates Sdn Bhd and Sheraton Utama Hotel recently hosted a function to bid Datin Hjh Zainah Bujang farewell and to welcome Mr Alex Riva as the new General Manager of Sheraton Utama Hotel.
The opening speech was delivered by Dato Paduka Timothy Ong, who thanked Datin Hjh Zainah Bujang for her years of loyalty and hard work towards the company, hotel and her fellow colleagues.
Mr Peter Frawley, Starwood's Regional Vice President of Southeast Asia - Starwood Hotels Asia Pacific Division, also delivered a farewell speech on behalf of Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide Inc. As part of this program, Sheraton Utama Hotel Brunei Darussalam also been privilege visited by a member of top executive from Starwood were also present on that evening include Mr Ahmad Zehnun, the Starwood's Area Director of Human Resource for Southeast Asia and Ms Alice Wong, Starwood's Vice-President of Finance for Asia Pacific Region and of course Mr. Peter Frawley direct boss of Datin Hjh Zainah Bujang and i also take this opportunity to have picture together with them.

Attended on the fuction were Top VIP from Brunei gouverment sector, CEO from coorporate company, Sheraton friends and all Executive from Sheraton hotel.
In the past 26 years, Datin Hjh Zainah Bujang had successfully been promoted within the hotel from Human Resources Department to General Manager of Sheraton Utama Hotel.
Datin Hjh Zainah Bujang was the second female General Manager in the Asia Pacific Region and the first female General Manager in Asia under all the Starwood Hotels and Resorts Inc brand umbrella.
She was also the first local female General Manager in Brunei Darussalam. She had also chaired the Brunei Association of Hotels as president for nine years. On her speech Datin Hjh Zainah thank to all participant that includes Starwood company, owners, friend of Sheraton and individual of executive committee member of Sheraton Utama.
Succeeding in her position will be Mr Alex Riva, the former Resident Deputy General Manager of Le Meridien, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Mr Alex Riva is not new to Starwood as he had spent 14 years with the company, and is keen to share his knowledge and experience to benefit Sheraton Utama Hotel.
